Being in Emotional Turmoil

Emotional TurmoilHas it ever happened to you that you feel the people surrounding you are not hearing you, not listening and only criticizing what you do or what you say? Everything you say is misunderstood, what you do is misinterpreted and at the end of the day you feel so exhausted and drained that you can hardly move. When you try to talk about it, it only causes more stress and heart ache.

That’s when you need to realize that you are your own master of the ship. No one, and I mean no one, can really make you feel better or wave a magic wand to make it all go away.

When this happens to me, I go into deep thoughts and meditation and try to figure it all out. And I always come to the same conclusion: It comes out of old hurts, old scars and unresolved feelings which cause these situations. Maybe people around you don't listen, but the first consideration is that you hear or interpret their tone and mannerisms out of the perspective of your past with all the unresolved emotions attached.

When you become aware of the depth of these feelings, they slowly go away and become a non-issue. I believe Eckhart Tolle called it the pain body. We all have different pasts, different memories and scars. Just be aware when they act up. It is not always what it seems to be, what you think you are hearing or understanding. When we step back and look at it from a distance, it all becomes more manageable and most of the time irrelevant and unimportant.

Don’t beat yourself up, you are ok, and always remember: You are who you are and you are all right.
