Wellness Activities

There is a great variety of wellness activities available. The first decision is to make your choices and then the decision that you will prevail and maintain a personal discipline to integrate them in your lifestyle. A life and wellness coach can assist in those choices by helping to customize them to your personality, energy level and lifestyle. You might also want to consult your healthcare provider before you start any wellness program, especially if there are serious health concerns.

There are wellness activities for all four quadrants of the wheel of health. Here are some suggestions. Some are overlapping. Although the primary benefit of the various wellness activities might be in one quadrant, all wellness activities will benefit all four quadrants on different levels. Please make your own lists according to what you like to do and what is available to you.

  • Control your thoughts – keep them on pleasant topics
  • Physical activities – your mind goes quiet

Emotional  wellness activites – reduce your stress

  • Breathing exercises
  • Meditation
  • Bio-feedback
  • Physical activities – your emotions quiet down
  • Keep a journal – it will show you what makes you tick
  • Objectively watch yourself for short periods of time
  • Control your thoughts

Spiritual wellness activities:

  • Meditation
  • Yoga
  • Tai Chi
  • Breathing Exercises
  • Thought control
  • Listening to music
  • Enjoying friends
  • Joining spiritual groups
  • Celebrating yourself

Whatever you decide to do, please make sure it is fun, you like to do it, and it makes you happy. And remember, anything you do in that spirit will benefit the whole.
